Potential Development is a local organization that has served thousands of children in the last 60 years. It was during the 1980s that the organization came to the realization that the number of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder was growing. At that time the organization began to expand services to those beyond pre-school. In 2001, the elementary school was founded, and served those in kindergarten through third grade. It gradually expanded to serve students as they aged, and a high school was built in 2013 with the first graduates in 2015. The high school will be expanding to another floor as of Aug. 30 to provide additional resources, including workforce training, to its students.
