Chad Miller, President of Boardman Community Baseball, spoke to the Boardman Rotary on Tuesday. Boardman Community Baseball is affiliated with Little League Baseball International, operating as Boardman Community Little League. Boardman Community Baseball is also affiliated with PONY Baseball and Softball through our PONY and COLT League programs. The rules and regulations of the affiliated organizations are used to guide our baseball and softball programs. The Fields of Dreams at 410 McClurg Road is privately owned by Boardman Community Baseball. They receive no federal, state or township dollars to operate, maintain or upgrade our facility. The complex was built through the generous donations of individual benefactors, local businesses, service organizations and individual families in Boardman. The maintenance, equipment and upgrades at the Fields of Dreams are financed through continued donations, league fundraisers and outside tournaments sponsored by Boardman Community Baseball. It has one full-time employee (40 hours/week) and four part-time student employees during the season who maintain the fields. Boardman Community Baseball currently has 64 teams listed on their website. |
