The Animal Charity/Humane Society on Market Street in Boardman offers a full-service veterinary clinic, animal shelter and humane agency. It is staffed with one full-time and two part-time veterinarians, and three vet-techs. In 2014 alone, it served 5,000 animals, took 1,500 humane calls and sheltered 300.

The annual pancake breakfast is just around the corner. The dates for this year's breakfast are Saturday, March 21; Sunday, March 22; Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.
