Program: Shawn Golden, Disc Golf

Member Shawn Golden made a presentation on the rules of Disc Golf. He explained that he used to play the game quite often when a resident of East Liverpool. However, upon moving to Boardman a few years back, he discovered there was no location to play the game. As such, he has been working closely with Boardman Park to bring a disc golf course to the park.

As a basic overview, the equipment needed is: discos, a basket, a tee box and a bag. The only expense to the player is the disc, and a player can have a number of discs that serve different purposes as a club would do in regular golf.

Program: Jennifer Kollar Mahoning County Childrens Services

Presentation from Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016:

Jennifer Kollar from Mahoning County Children's Services gave members an update on the foster care program from the County's perspective.

She explained the process by which a child is designated to foster care and what qualifies a person/couple to be a foster parent.

She also spoke about National Adoption Day which is November 2nd and encouraged anyone who has an interest to contact MCCS at 330.941.8888.
