As we continue looking ahead at how we can enhance membership in Rotary, we're starting to grasp a better understanding as a club about the ways in which we can reach those audiences. Social media is a growing communication and marketing tool, allowing businesses and organizations an opportunity to converse with customers on a different level. Why would Rotary want to get involved?
 
Instagram:
  • 60.4% of all users are aged 18-24 (largest demographic are males 18-24)
  • 80% of users follow a brand/organization on Instagram
  • 60% of Instagram users discover new products on the platform
  • Engagement with brands/organizations on Instagram is 10 times higher than Facebook
  • 32% of US teens list Instagram as their most important social channel
Twitter:
  • The average Twitter user follows five businesses
  • 80% of Twitter users have mentioned a brand in a Tweet
  • There has been a 2.5x increase in customer service conversations on Twitter in the last two years
  • 80% of active users access the site via mobile device
  • There are 500 million tweets sent each day (6,000/second)
