David Stillwagon of CCA and Jermaine McAlphine of Boys and Girls Club of America spoke to the club about their collaborative beautification programs on Youngstown's South Side. The project began with the demolition of the old Red and White Market on Market Street. Following the demolition came the excavation of the site and creating a green space slope that provides a further sight line to the club.

The Boys and Girls Club is working with a number of community partners to provide greater resources to the children of Youngstown. McAlphine said plans include a walking path, the creation of kickball courts and additional green space that will allow for open-air markets.
